With the start of the new year I’ve been thinking about my intentions for 2021. I recently started reframing my goals as intentions. Goals feel more black and white–you meet your goal or you fall short. Intentions can mean many things, but for me intentions are lived everyday and focus on my relationship with myself. Some examples are intending to see goodness around me, to be kind to myself under pressure, and to manifest happiness.
This January I set a few intentions around moving towards happiness. 2020 was such a tough and unpredictable year, and I want to focus on the good things in life. I intend to make decisions for myself, and I intend to move towards discovering things that make me happy. Here are a few things I’ve done so far to further my intentions:
First, I started playing my instruments again. I play guitar, bass, piano, and ukulele. I love doing covers of indie, alternative, and pop music. I recorded covers of “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” and “You And I” by Ingrid Michaelson. It’s been really enjoyable to make music again, and you can watch my covers below!
I also started expanding my personal business and working with great brands. I’ve enjoyed discovering brands that create unique and quality services or products, especially ones that are organic, eco-friendly, women-owned, and minority-owned. You can check out some of the products I discovered last month below or in the “My Favorite Things” section of this blog. Drop a comment and share what some of your intentions are for 2021!
I’m trying to strengthen my immune system these days, and MaryRuth’s Organics has the right, allergy-friendly vitamins for me! I particularly enjoy their K2 + D3 Calcium Gummies. The gummies are peach, mango, and apricot flavored. They’re delicious and don’t taste like your average vitamins. The gummies are organic, non-GMO, gluten free, nut free, dairy free, and more!
Maybelline’s SuperStay Matte Ink in Ground-Breaker is one of my favorite lip stains! The Matte Ink stays on forever, and they have such great colors.
I’m a big fan of Yeouth’s Pure Hyaluronic Acid, especially during these bitter Chicago winters. I have such sensitive and dry skin, and I’m always looking for quality skin care products. The Pure Hyaluronic Acid keeps my skin hydrated and happy during these subzero temperatures. Yeouth has been a great addition to my skincare routine. I love that Yeouth is fragrance, sulphate, paraben, cruelty, and GMO free! Give it a try!
